Mixed Media

In this course students will study and apply the elements of design and the principles of composition to various materials. They will develop creative problem-solving works of art that usually have more of a 3-dimensionals flare, using a variety of techniques and mediums including paper, canvas, foam core, paints, wood, glass, and clay, as well as other synthetic and natural media.

Everyday when a student is taking a visual art class in a studio environment, it is a never ending process of creative activities. Thinking and being involved in the mental as well as the hands on processes, can mean participants may never be on the same page or project at the same time. Some students work very diligently while others work at a multitude of different paces.

Unlike in many classes, my choice is that a student should always strive for quality in their work rather than to just get it done.
