Shadow a Student
One of the best ways to assess “fit” at The Independent School is for prospective students to spend part of the day on-campus. Students see what the classroom environment is like, meet our teachers and current students, learn about fun and exciting special interest activities, and eat lunch on-campus – our treat! We make every attempt to match prospective student visitors with current TIS students who have similar academic and extracurricular interests.
We also host a group shadow day during the admission cycle when many of our local public schools are closed for the day. Prospective students can join us for group visit days on:

New Family Picnic & Play Date
For families who enroll for the 2012-2013 school year, The Independent School will host a summer picnic to welcome you to our school community.

The Independent School Campus
The Independent School is located on 20 acres in east Wichita. There are 5 buildings on The Independent School campus including the Lower School, the Middle School, the Upper School, the Upper School, Language Arts Building, and the Wichita Swim Club.
There is also a unique creek/biology area called The I.S.L.A.N.D.S., where the students can explore nature and conduct outdoor experiments.
A cooperative agreement with Wichita Swim Club provides unique opportunities to students at The Independent School.
