National Honor Society

National Honor Society (NHS) is a national organization designed to recognize and honor high school students who have excelled in the classroom, as leaders, in community service and who have demonstrated character and integrity. The organization is also designed to provide those students with a venue to continue to exercise leadership and to give back to the community through service opportunities.

At TIS NHS members work together on a community service project each month. The TIS chapter of National Honor Society has been recognized and received awards for its ongoing involvement with the residents of Sedgwick Plaza.

Membership is available to juniors and seniors who meet the chapter's guidelines in academics, leadership, community service and character. The application process occurs in the spring of each year.
