Philosophy

The Independent School athletic program offers students the opportunity to participate in a multitude of team sports. The athletic program emphasizes the importance of developing and maintaining personal fitness for strong performance, and a healthy and positive mental attitude. Sportsmanship, perseverance, the ability to win with character or lose with dignity, self-discipline, self-reliance, self-confidence, a sense of teamwork and team discipline, competitiveness, and the enjoyment of competition for its own sake are characteristics which are at the core of the teachings of the athletic program.

2010-2011 Results:

Catch it Kansas named Independent the class 3A All-Sports Champion for the 2010-2011 season.  This is the the 4th year they have given out this award and includes all of the 3A schools in the state, and all sports played this year. Each sport is given points based on how the team and individuals performed during the season.
