Track and Field

Track and Field is offered to students in the Middle and Upper School.  The Upper School students are led by coach Eric Swenson, who has been awarded coach of the year by the National Federation of High Schools Coaches Association, Kansas Coaches Association, and Kansas Cross Country and Track and Field 3A Coaches Association.

The Independent program promotes goal setting, positive attitude, sportsmanship, and confidence in one’s ability to advance to a higher level of performance.

In the previous 9 seasons, the Upper School track and field program has produced as a team: one State Championship, two State Runner-up Champions, one third place, and six league titles.  Individually, the school has 14 State Champions, three State Records, and has earned a total of 122 State medals.  11 graduates have advanced their Track & field experience by participating at the collegiate level, including six at NCAA institutions.

The Middle School track team is competitive at all of their meets. Students learn how to participate as a team while competing in individual events.  Track is available for 6th-8th grade students, both boys and girls.
