restling is offered in the Middle and Upper School.
Since wrestling was first initiated at The Independent School in 2001, the Panthers have grown from a few dedicated individuals into a strong cohesive team and a competitive force. A solid foundation has been laid for Panther wrestling program, producing Independent's first state champion, six state medalists and twenty-six state qualifiers.

Coach Hibler is poised and ready to take the Panther wrestlers to the next level. With two returning state-placers, five state-qualifiers and solid incoming talent, the Panthers are in position to field the largest and most successful Independent wrestling team ever.  Expectations are high and Coach Hibler emphasis on fundamentals, hard work and team commitment will make this an exciting year to be a Panther wrestling fan. Keep an eye on these dedicated Panthers as they continue to build a winning tradition.

Coaching Staff:

Jarrod Hibler- Upper School Coach.  This is Coach Hibler's eighth year as a wrestling coach.  He has assisted the Kansas national team for four years at the Senior National Tournament, and is a graduate from Halstead High School where he was a four-time state qualifier, three-time regional champion, three-time state placer and two-time state finalist and state champion in 1996.

Trevor Darmstetter- Middle School Coach.  Coach Darmstetter is a TIS alumni of the 2009 class.  He also coaches our Middle School Cross Country team and assists with our State Champion runners at the Upper School.
