Last spring, TIS students were invited to put their creativity to work and submit designs for this year’s all-school T-shirt. When the winning design was selected, Middle School student Fiona Dame got some pretty exciting news: her artwork would soon be worn by the entire school community.

And we really do mean the entire community.

From our youngest Panthers in the Early Learning Center to our seniors in Upper School, along with teachers and staff across every campus, Fiona’s design is now part of TIS life this school year.

The shirt is fun, but what it represents may be even better. Our students are not simply members of this community. They have opportunities to contribute to it, influence it, and make it their own. We listen to their ideas, encourage their creativity, and give them meaningful ways to leave their mark.

Seeing Fiona’s design everywhere on campus is a pretty great reminder of what can happen when students are given the chance to create and lead.

Congratulations, Fiona. Your artwork is officially part of the story of this school year.
