2026-2027 Part Time Upper School Science Teacher - Physics and Chemistry
This position begins August 1, 2026
Job Description
The Independent School seeks a dedicated educator to teach Upper School science courses, including Physics and Chemistry. This adjunct position is ideal for an experienced science teacher or industry professional who brings real-world knowledge to the classroom and enjoys mentoring young scientists.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver rigorous and inquiry-based instruction in high school Physics and/or Chemistry
- Support student learning through hands-on experiments and lab activities
- Provide individualized feedback and academic support
- Foster an inclusive classroom that encourages scientific curiosity
- Communicate effectively with students and families about academic progress
- Attend faculty meetings and professional development sessions as needed
- Utilize Schoology and PowerSchool to deliver instruction and maintain student records
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, or related field (Required)
- Prior experience teaching high school or college-level science preferred
- Strong organizational and instructional skills
- Commitment to student-centered and experiential learning

Co-Lead Teacher
The Independent Early Learning Center in Wichita, KS is a high-quality early childhood program that supports learning through play, developmentally appropriate practice, and loving environments. Staff will enjoy working with children ages 6 weeks to Preschool in a fun, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities :
- Actively monitor children and ensure the safety of each child in all areas (classroom, playground, and common areas).
- Set up/break down of learning activities, potty training/diaper changing, meal times, and basic care.
- Implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Document daily activities and observations of children.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment.
- Engage in ongoing professional development completing all child care licensing regulations for KDHE
- Any other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid Certification or willing to obtain within first 90 days.
- Must meet (or be able to meet within 30 days of hire) KDHE specific requirements for Health Assessment, TB test, and Health and Safety Training.
- The ability to be courteous, professional, and confidential where appropriate.
- Pass pre-employment screening and KDHE required background check.
- Able to speak, read, and write English
- Possess a love of children and motivation to make a difference in their lives.
Required Physical Qualifications
- Must be able to use a computer with basic proficiency.
- Lift a minimum of 30 pounds,
- Be able to work indoors & outdoors during a variety of climates.
- Be able to physically bend and sit on the floor, and move quickly to ensure children's safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year experience in a licensed facility teaching young children.
- Degree in Early Childhood or related degree preferred

Summer Camp Counselor
Pay: $12.00 per hour
Job Description:
Are you ready to make this summer unforgettable for our campers? Join us at The Independent School Summer Camp as a camp counselor and be a part of creating the best summer experiences for children aged from Kindergarten to 8th grade. Our camp runs from June 1st to July 31st, and we're looking for enthusiastic individuals who can help monitor, supervise, and engage campers in a safe and fun environment through a variety of hands-on activities. As a camp counselor, you'll be a role model, ensuring our campers have a positive and memorable experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of campers through active supervision and enforcement of camp rules and policies.
- Engage and participate in activities with campers to enhance their summer experience.
- Assist in daily tasks such as organizing activities and materials, cleanup, preparing water toys, snack time, and other duties assigned by the camp lead.
- Demonstrate a genuine love for children and a commitment to enriching their summer experience.
- Be a flexible team player willing to assist with additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High energy, excitement, and readiness for new adventures each day.
- Prior experience working with children is preferred but not required.
- Ability to swim and are comfortable being in and around water.
- CPR certification (Preferred)
- Availability for the duration of the camp season from June 1st to July 31st
