Teaching Positions
Early Childhood Educators
Assistant Teacher (2 positions available)
This position works 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
The Independent Early Learning Center in Wichita, KS is a high-quality early childhood program that supports learning through play, developmentally appropriate practice, and loving environments. Staff will enjoy working with children ages 6 weeks to Preschool in a fun, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities :
- Actively monitor children and ensure the safety of each child in all areas (classroom, playground, and common areas).
- Set up/break down of learning activities, potty training/diaper changing, meal times, and basic care.
- Implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Document daily activities and observations of children.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment.
- Engage in ongoing professional development completing all child care licensing regulations for KDHE
- Any other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid Certification or willing to obtain within first 90 days.
- Must meet (or be able to meet within 30 days of hire) KDHE specific requirements for Health Assessment, TB test, and Health and Safety Training.
- The ability to be courteous, professional, and confidential where appropriate.
- Pass pre-employment screening and KDHE required background check.
- Able to speak, read, and write English
- Possess a love of children and motivation to make a difference in their lives.
Required Physical Qualifications
- Must be able to use a computer with basic proficiency.
- Lift a minimum of 30 pounds,
- Be able to work indoors & outdoors during a variety of climates.
- Be able to physically bend and sit on the floor, and move quickly to ensure children's safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year experience in a licensed facility teaching young children.
- Degree in Early Childhood or related degree preferred

2024-2025 Panther Care Lead
Do you enjoying working with students? Join us at The Independent School Summer Camp as a Panther Care Lead. Panther Care is our after school care program. We are looking to hire a Junior Kindergarten and Lower School Lead. Panther Care runs from August 15th to May 20th each day school is in session, and we're looking for enthusiastic individuals who can supervise, lead staff and engage students in a safe and fun environment through a variety of hands-on activities.
Responsibilities:
- Panther Care Lead role is to serve as a role model through positive and encouraging encounters.
- Actively monitor students and ensure the safety of each student in all areas (commons and outside).
- Assist students as needed with homework.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all students.
- Track students attendance for billing.
- Communicate effectively with Extended Day Lead and divisional head as needed.
Required Qualifications:

Administrative Assistant - Early Learning Center
This role works a set schedule of 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
Job Overview:
The Administrative Assistant / Office Manager ensures the efficient daily operations of our Early Learning Center. This role involves overseeing office functions, supporting staff and families, managing communications, and assisting with financial and operational tasks. Punctuality and reliability are critical for success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors, answer phone calls, and manage email correspondence professionally.
- Coordinate calendars, schedule appointments, and organize meetings.
- Maintain and update student records, enrollment information, and administrative files.
- Create and distribute newsletters, notices, and communications to parents and families.
- Manage billing, invoicing, and financial transactions with accuracy and timeliness.
- Order and manage office supplies, keeping an accurate inventory.
- Provide administrative support to the Director and teaching staff as needed.
- Ensure compliance with office safety and health regulations.
- Open the office, check messages, and review the daily schedule to ensure smooth operations.
- Handle enrollment inquiries and update student and teacher records throughout the day.
- Process invoices and financial transactions, and manage supply inventory.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in an administrative role, particularly in an educational setting, preferred.

Custodian (Part-Time)
Hours: 20-25 hours per week
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Part-Time Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards within our facilities. This role requires the ability to work independently and efficiently, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standard. Prior experience with floor maintenance is preferred.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform general cleaning duties, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
2. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and fixtures.
3. Empty and dispose of trash and recycling materials.
4. Maintain cleanliness of common areas, including hallways, lobbies, and entrances.
5. Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and report any shortages.
6. Follow safety protocols and use cleaning equipment and chemicals properly.
7. Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed, such as changing light bulbs or fixing minor plumbing issues.
8. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous custodial experience preferred, with specific experience in floor maintenance highly desirable.
3. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
4. Strong attention to detail and dedication to maintaining cleanliness standards.
5. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and perform repetitive tasks.
6. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe usage.
7. Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
8. Willingness to undergo background check.
