About Us
For over four decades, The Independent School has proudly contributed to the fabric of the Wichita community, with our Early Learning Center extending our commitment to families with young children since January 2019. Catering to children aged 6 weeks to 4 years old, our Early Learning Center offers the perfect blend of small class sizes, a nurturing environment, and dedicated, highly qualified teachers, ensuring an enriching educational experience from the earliest stages of development.

Ricayah Hayden, our Head of The Early Learning Center at The Independent School, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her role. With a background as a teacher for several years, Ricayah's passion for education has been a driving force throughout her career journey.
Fueled by her genuine love for children, Ricayah pursued higher education at Newman University. There, she attained a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, equipping herself with the foundational knowledge to make a positive impact in the lives of young learners. Her commitment to enhancing instructional strategies led her to further her studies, earning a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the same institution.
Notably, Mrs. Hayden's pursuit of knowledge doesn't stop there. She's currently on the path to completing her doctoral degree, a testament to her unyielding dedication to continuous growth and improvement. Through her experiences, education, and ongoing pursuit of excellence, Mrs. Hayden exemplifies the values and commitment that drive The Independent School's educational mission.
