Tuition & Financial Aid
Choosing a school is a meaningful decision for any family. We want the financial side of that decision to feel clear, straightforward, and personal from the beginning.
At The Independent School, families receive transparent tuition information, intentionally short school-supply lists, and access to need-based financial aid. Our admissions team is here to answer questions and help you understand the options available to your family.
Making a TIS Education Possible
We believe families should explore TIS before assuming it is financially out of reach. Need-based financial aid is available to qualifying families and is designed to help make a TIS education possible for students who would benefit from our community and academic program.
Financial aid decisions are based on each family’s individual circumstances. We encourage families to ask questions and begin the process early.
2026–2027 Tuition
We believe families deserve clear information as they consider a TIS education. Annual tuition is based on the student’s grade level.

What Your Fees Cover
Consumable Fee
Included in the first tuition payment, the consumable fee covers consumable workbooks, textbook rental, science lab materials, and other classroom resources used throughout the school year.
Supply Fee
The supply fee allows TIS to provide most of the everyday classroom supplies students need. This keeps family shopping lists intentionally short and ensures students have consistent, teacher-selected materials ready for use.
Families typically provide only a few personal items, such as a backpack, water bottle, P.E. shoes, and certain grade-specific items.
Participation-Based Fees
Some extracurricular activities have separate participation fees. Athletics and arts-production fees are determined annually and charged only to students who participate.
Financial Aid at TIS
TIS offers need-based financial aid to help make an Independent School education possible for families who qualify.
No Deadline. Rolling Review.
Financial aid applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and there is currently no fixed deadline to apply.
We encourage families to apply as soon as possible, as awards are made based on demonstrated need and available funds. Applying earlier gives families the best opportunity for full consideration and more time to plan for the school year.
How the Process Works
Families applying for financial aid will complete an application through FACTS and upload the required supporting documents, which typically include tax forms and other financial records.
Once all materials have been submitted, applications are reviewed and families are notified as decisions are made.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
- Financial aid is need-based.
- Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
- There is no formal deadline to apply.
