An Evening of Celebration and Support

    • A Night of Jazz

The Independent School is pleased to announce the newly named spring fundraiser – Pantherpalooza! The Independent School annual celebration and fundraiser is your opportunity to join the community in coming together to connect and support.

What is Pantherpalooza?
In order to keep with our founder, Jean Garvey’s vision of providing an excellent private school education at an affordable price, The Independent School (TIS) holds a fundraising event each year. This event is the school’s largest fundraising effort and helps secure the resources needed to fund important projects and programs throughout the school.
Throughout the year, donations are accepted into three “buckets”:
(Pantherpalooza fills the first bucket, Annual Fund. Filling this bucket is extremely important for TIS. We hope you will join us this year and help “Fund the Need”.)
  1. Annual Fund – Did you know that the cost of providing an exemplary education at TIS is significantly more than what is gathered in tuition? This is because at TIS, we strive to keep yearly tuition attainable for families. Due to this, we operate with a “gap”. Donating to the Annual Fund helps bridge this gap and allows us to continue to provide an excellent education for each student, while keeping tuition reachable for our families. Each donation to the Annual Fund, no matter how small in amount, helps us sustain our school and allows our students, staff and facilities to thrive. Funding the Annual Fund is the main reason and sole purpose of Pantherpalooza. This yearly event aims to highlight our TIS family and provide a night of fun, food, and fellowship with your Panther friends. Please join us this year as we raise dollars to support TIS and the Annual Fund. GO PANTHERS!
  2. Special Projects – Do you wish you could help improve a certain facility or program at TIS? Would you like to see a specific use for your donation? Then, this is the bucket for you! Funding a Special Project at TIS is a wonderful way to make your mark for years to come. If you are interested in partnering with us in this way, please contact Mr. Davis to discuss your ideas further.
  3. Endowment – Would you like to establish a scholarship in your name, or help fund future students’ particular interests at TIS? Then this is the bucket for you! If you are interested in partnering with us in this way, please contact Mr. Davis to discuss your ideas further.

What will we do?
Please mark your calendars for Saturday, February 25th, 2023, and join us at Crestview Country Club for a night of fun, friends, food, drink, and fundraising in support of our TIS Panthers. The night will begin with an optional VIP hour where guests will be met with jazz music from Rudy Love, Jr and Band, as well as a signature drink. VIP guests will also be granted early access to the silent auction bidding, as well as offered tastings from Una Vida tequila and Grain Elevator Brewing, in addition to small bites to eat. This will lead to the main admission guests arriving at 6pm with silent auction bidding, food and drink stations, and live music open to all. Guests will enjoy mingling with friends, meeting new Panther families, as well as access to a photo booth to capture memories made. The fun will continue when we move into the Live Auction and Fund-The-Need portion of the evening where guests will enjoy drinks and dessert as we listen to Mr. Davis lead us in his “why”. The party continues after the presentations when guests will be treated to music and dancing by Rudy Love Jr and Band.
Why a Country Club? Won’t that be stuffy?
The event is held at Crestview Country Club (CCC) this year for several reasons, mainly cost. It might seem counterintuitive but moving the auction location to a Country Club from the Upper School Gymnasium, where it was held last year, will save TIS tens of thousands of dollars. CCC’s ability to localize food, linens, tables, chairs, cutlery, as well as provide the staff to set up and tear down the event is a welcome perk to any event planner, and we are thrilled to work with CCC to put on a fantastic event for our guests. We do know, however, that Country Clubs can feel too fancy or stuffy. While that may be the case at other venues, on the spectrum from fun to fancy, CCC is FUN all the way! Plus, Pantherpalooza will be held separately from the dining areas of regular members, so our event will be filled with your TIS friends and guests. Come in your fanciest dress, your Sunday best, or your casual dinner out attire (Uniquely You, Uniquely Independent is the vibe), and join in on the fun with our Panther Family!
Sounds fun, but what will my kids do?
The Independent Thespians and Art Club will be providing a Parent Night Out for children ages 5-10. While you are enjoying your time at CCC, your child will be having fun with their friends, eating pizza, and playing games with supervision from responsible Upper School students. Click here for details and to reserve your spot.
How do I get in on the fun?
Purchase your tickets HERE and get ready for a night to remember! Early bird pricing ends tomorrow, so don’t wait.
What if I am unable to attend? Am I still able to donate?
Of course! We understand that every family is busy and while we will be sad to miss you in person, we will be happy to welcome your donation from afar. We also understand that each family has a unique giving capacity, and that each donation, no matter the size, is welcome and impactful at TIS. We hope you will partner with us to help Fund-The-Need for our beloved school. Click here to provide your information. PS-don’t forget all donations are tax deductible.
Wait. Did I hear something about a raffle to win a car? Is that part of Pantherpalooza?
